I remember games from 30 years ago better than I remember this season.
Seeing Cottee, McAvennie et al on YouTube still feels current.

I can still remember picking up the paper at home (Daily Express) and there being a big headline and mack the knife or something.

It astounds me that some can remember in so much detail about going to a match over 30 years ago. I went too but literally can't remember a thing about it, don't even know how I got there, although assume it was on the rattler.

I was there.
It was a strange atmosphere as we were on the train approaching Manchester. I thought we might have a welcome from the locals after the Beatrix shenanigans, but saw no Man U fans on any bridges, and nothing from Warwick Road to the ground.
Great game though! We nearly blew it, but got the winner which is highly unusual for us.
And gutted for you Soldo. Been up there 10/11 times and seen us win 3. The 2-0 cup replay, and also the 1-0 taxi for Barthez...

I been to Old Trafford 7 or 8 times... never seen us win...hardly ever seen us score a goal...last time was the 0-6 cup massacre... so...
...I was not there...

I was in the home seats just above the paddock where our fans were standing,when we went 2-0 up me and my 2 mates were moved by the stewards in to our bit,I was only 18 at the time and was never the bravest !.The winning goal was a cracker,I remember Frankies header just clearing Chris Turner,he was a short keeper from memory.

I was there - great game, great memories. It was the second game of the season and our 2nd win, which put us top of the table.
We finished the season 15th!

Loved it. The Man U basketball team were introduced to the crowd before the game, resplendent in their casual kit of boot cut training bottoms and short sleeved shirts they looked similar to employees of a well known fast food chain so the chant went up from the West Ham away support. "Work in McDonalds. You only work in McDonalds..."
